Space Adenture Cobra - The Awakening is a 2D side-scrolling action platformer based on the first twelve episodes of the anime with the same name. Players will take command of the roles of Cobra and Lady Armaroid traveling from planet to planet, facing against the Space Pirate Guild in an attempt to save the universe from a mysterious enemy.
I'm not familiar with the anime at all so it's hard for me to come up with an inventive way of putting the above information out there. I like to try to make it fun when I can. Anyways, this game looks really cool. It has the typical platforming action of a 2D side-scroller but I really love the art style presented. The bosses look great and the level design looks neat. It instantly reminded me of games like Flashback or Another World even though I never beat either of those. I really loved the art style in those games as well back in their day. I still intend to get around to playing through the remake of Flashback but dunno if I ever actually will.
I was browsin youtube after chillin with a buddy live streaming some nintendo games and spotted the new trailer for Space Adventure Cobra - The Awakening and decided to check it out. I loved it right away and then saw that it was already on my steam wishlist so I thought that was funny. I don't remember every game I'm interested in, man. It's practically all of them.
As I often do, I quickly browsed the steam forums for the game just to see what kind of discussion might be going on. There's already a complaint that Space Adventure Cobra - The Awakening is being censored and does not quite live up to the source material cuz apparently the anime is adult themed? As I mentioned, I'm not familiar with the anime. I recognized the male character right away as I do remember it being very popular, I just never got around to watching that one. I also remembered there being a game before. I just looked it up and yeah, it was on the Sega CD! I never played it but I recognized it.
Space Adenture Cobra - The Awakening is developed by Magic Pockets (I love that name) and published by Microids. It is set to release on August 26th for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch. Thanks for reading. Game on.
