13Z: The Zodiac Trials is an incredible looking third-person hack-and-slash rogue-like game developed and published by Mixed Realms Pte Ltd. I dunno why I didn't request playtest access to this game. It looks amazing. I think I've just been busy and really into Assassin's Creed Shadows.
The current Playtest 2 has been active and was going to end yesterday, April 6th. It has been extended until the 21st and if you participate in the playtest, you'll get a free unnanounced cosmetic in future playtests. No mention if it will also be available in the full game. Most games I've played in previous betas do give rewards in the full game but I've also seen some that don't and only gave a temporary reward to use only in the beta, which I thought was a little odd. Update: the cosmetic reward will be permanent for the game launch as well.
The playtest for 13Z: The Zodiac Trials has single-player and co-op for two to four players after you complete the opening tutorial. I believe you'll get instant access to the playtest if you put in a request since it's supposed to be in "Open Beta." The link is in the very first sentence if you haven't already clicked on that. Just scroll down a bit on the store page to find the "Request Access" button.
Mixed Realms wants players to know this is a work-in-progress that will still be receiving lots of work and updates. You should expect bugs and possible performance issues such as lag or even game crashes. They'd like to put together a highlight reel for the playtest. If you've recorded any gameplay or made videos about the game, you can share your links on their steam post, their discord, or dm them on twitter. For more details and links for that, here is the official announcement.
The devs also celebrated some fan art, pictured above. I love when developers do that, especially when it's from a small account you've never heard of. The artist is "Minzzway" from the game's official discord channel. You can view the fan art on the official announcement as well.
I don't know if I'll end up giving this a try. I'm not quite in the mood this very second but I'm watching the trailer and I'm just like, man, this looks so dang good. There's plenty of time too. I might but I'm not sure yet. Anyways, let me know what you think of 13Z: The Zodiac Trials if you give it a try. Is this game made in Unity? I bet you it's made in Unity. Every damn game is made in Unity now. lol Thanks for reading. Game on.
