Hordes of Hunger is a roguelite arena-slasher where you'll fight for survival against ever-intensifying waves of monsters. Create your loadout from a range of weapons and special attacks, then gain new abilities in each run to fine-tune your build. Complete quests and rescue others from the onslaught to gain resources and uncover the mysterious origins of the evil you face.
That is taken directly from the steam store page. There's a demo available to try out. I've played an hour of it. I had played a previous version where an auto-attack was available but the most recent demo didn't seem to have that or I just didn't see the option. Hordes of Hunger is a third-person 3D version of the survivors genre, instead of the top-down camera angle. I have enjoyed my time with the demo very much. It's hack-and-slashy with lots of splash. The roguelike elements are cool. It's certainly worth trying the demo to see if you'd like it.
They've done a couple of different giveaways while promoting the game. A brand new one just started for a custom xbox controller with cool game themed art.
Hordes of Hunger will feature a fully voiced story that develops within and between runs, customizeable loadouts, side objectives, and more. It is developed by Hyperstrange, the creators of Blood West, Elderborn which I think is cool, Postal: Brain Damaged which I haven't played yet but it looks awesome, and more, and published by Kwalee. It will be available on PC in Early Access starting May 6, 2025.
If you prefer a little deeper action rpg in comparison to these fun and chill survivors games, you might also want to check out Dungeons of Sundaria. I haven't played that one in awhile but I was very impressed with it and enjoyed the nearly eight hours of time I played it. I've been meaning to go back and play more. I've just been playing lots of different things. Thanks for reading. Game on.
