Assassin's Creed Year 1 Update Roadmap Addresses Lots of Player Feedback

Assassin's Creed Shadows will be receiving some very nice and major content and feature updates in May and June with more to come later. Before the Claws of Awaji expansion comes out later this year, there will be some free story missions that will add more depth to already existing characters as well as add some new ones. The new stories will unlock new abilities and new Allies to fight by your side.

Planned for late May, Naoe's parkour in Assassin's Creed Shadows will be receiving some new animations that add additional climbing mechanics with a back-eject, side-eject, and a vertical ledge jump to make the gameplay even smoother.

Photo Mode will receive new filters, character facial expressions and poses, and even a music playlist to select from while spending time creating your scene. I had noticed this was a large complaint for the screenshot enthusiasts. A lot of players were calling the photo mode basic and too simple, understandably. I thought the photo mode was just fine but it was missing many things that a lot of games with the feature have so this is a cool update. It's certainly better than the games that have a "photo mode" that is just a first-person snap-shot stupid thing like Kingdom Hearts. Ugh. If you know me, I kind of never stop taking screenshots and I love Photo Mode. I don't get as deep as other players do with all the editing but it's one of my most favorite features and I demand it in every game ever!!!

More interface options will be available in Assassin's Creed Shadows starting in June such as being able to disable glints on weapons during combat, ability icon filters, assassination filters, enable helm visibility during cinematics, the option to disable the outline around your character while your stealth and more! Did they see my posts and video?!?! Probably not but that was one of my big complaints! I'm so glad we'll be able to disable the stealth outline around our character. I wish they'd go back to Syndicate and Unity and do some interface enhancements there too.

New difficulty modes will also be available in the June update with harder options for stealth detection and combat. A New Game Plus feature is planned but that won't be until some time after the June update. There is no official release date yet for the Claws of Awaji expansion but it is expected to release this year. It will be free for all players who pre-ordered the game. I don't know how much it costs separately yet.

I haven't played Assassin's Creed Shadows for a couple of weeks now but I had nearly done everything. I still do plan and expect to finish it all up at some point. I have written quite a lot about the game including my Early Impressions of the game because I had a lot to say before even getting halfway done. I then came back to write more about some of the Finer Details after spending more time in the game. I wrote about the game having been prepared before launch for Steam Points and Steam Trading Cards. And I wrote about its first major game update

I very much look forward to returning for the expansion as well as finishing off the side content I haven't completed yet. I still have lots to do. I'm just taking a break and playing other games. All of the Roadmap information from this post can be viewed in the video below or in the announcement post on Steam. Thanks for reading. Game on.
